Basis of Observations

Reports and observations are based on the inspection scope, vessel access, conditions at the time of attendance and documentation made available.

An inspection cannot guarantee identification of every latent or concealed defect. Areas not accessed and tests not performed are distinguished from observed findings.

Specialist Examination

Where specialist examination is required, additional attendance by qualified marine engineers, class specialists or other technical professionals may be recommended.

Machinery observations within a Master Mariner-led assignment do not constitute a specialist engineering survey. Statutory and class observations do not replace decisions by the relevant authority or classification society.

Remote Screening

Remote screening is a preliminary acquisition tool based on available information. It does not replace physical onboard inspection or establish the condition of concealed or inaccessible equipment.

Commercial Relevance

Potential repair or maintenance exposure may require further investigation, specialist advice or quotations. Findings do not determine the final vessel price or the outcome of commercial negotiations.
